Fluid and solid, fragility and strength merge in Zimmermann’s new Spring 2022 campaign by photographer Benny Horne.

The campaign has its aesthetic basis in the collection itself and the work by stylist Romy Frydman, whose looks dance between frilly and floral, poetically princess-like dresses and straight-lined, powerfully modern suit jackets and denim, with the two sides of the spectrum sometimes balanced in a single look.

This season we explored the ideas of strength and fragility. We thought about dance – an appreciation of the power and athleticism, the graceful movement and fluidity of a dancer on the stage. It was also an opportunity to look to nature and all its beauty and resilience. These influences shaped the way we approached each element of the collection; we tried to create a feeling of balance in each look.”

This emotional and aesthetic balance is subtly embodied in the campaign imagery through its delicate photography and cinematography and smart choice of location. The setting of Miami’s Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, which features romantically weathered Mediterranean renaissance revival architecture embraced by tropical foliage, forms a fittingly poetic backdrop for Horne’s portraiture. Her skin kissed by the sun and hair delicately tousled by the sea breeze, model Giedre Dukauskaite embodies a pensive protagonist whose character exudes an air of simultaneous fragility and power.

Simple, romantic, and summery, the campaign is an effortless expression of Zimmermann’s carefully constructed balance of free-floating delicacy and focused solidity.
