Review of Acne Studios Spring 2022 Ad Campaign by Photographer Kacper Kasprzyk with Art Director Kate Swingler with Talent Margo Whitley
Acne Studios keeps things buttoned up with a new Spring 2022 campaign by photographer Kacper Kasprzyk and art director Kate Swingler.
The campaign keeps things simple in order to let the character of the house’s new collection shine through, which combines a subtle western-wear influence and Y2K deconstruction with kink and bondage-inspired details.
Kasprzyk captures model Margo Whitley in a studio space completely covered wall-to-wall with buttons. In neutral black, white, and brown tones, the explosion of buttons creates an engrossing sense of void space and visual interplay while echoing the colors and sense of deconstruction suggested by the designs.
With a simple concept that unexpectedly gives way to the visually complex, the campaign is a focused way to assert the unique power of Acne Studios’ design vision.
