Review of Bottega Veneta Pre-Spring 2024 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Matthieu Blazy with model Kendall Jenner and Photography from the Paparazzi
Bottega Veneta leverages the power of paparazzi with its new “Readymade” Pre-Spring 2024 campaign starring Kendall Jenner. The campaign follows hot on the heels of a previous chapter released just one day before that starred A$AP Rocky.
Taking the same clever approach as the Rocky campaign, this new installment repurposes actual paparazzi photographs of Kendall Jenner wearing Bottega, elevating them to luxury storytelling status and finishing them off with the house’s logo. The candid snaps see Kendall go about her typical daily routine in Los Angeles, from getting groceries to walking her dog Pyro.
While the approach marks a bit of a visual departure from Bottega Veneta’s recent campaigns, it perfectly fits in with the brand’s ethos of organic messaging and a commitment to honest, beautifully crafted pieces worn by distinct individuals. Unlike many street-style brand partnerships that you see outside of fashion shows, Jenner isn’t dressed head-to-toe in Bottega, but instead incorporates star pieces into her own wardrobe and style. Though the partnership was still premeditated, it still feels like a more natural and realistic way to capture how the brand genuinely resonates with people.
The campaign is a brilliant way to leverage the power of two of the biggest celebrity names, doing so in a way that is connected to pop and consumer culture but still feels grounded. We won’t be surprised if the series has a couple more familiar faces in store for us, and we look forward to seeing what’s next.
