Spring 2024 Ad Campaign

Review of Ferrari Spring 2024 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Rocco Iannone and Photographer Willy Vanderperre with models Anja Rubik and Alessandro Cagnassi

Ferrari drives desire with a slick and powerful Spring 2024 campaign by photographer Willy Vanderperre.

Vanderperre captures models Anja Rubik and Alessandro Cagnassi in a starkly minimal, light box-like space, almost entirely eliminating shadows. The approach heightens the intensities of the models’ defiant attitudes, as well as the clothing, which echoes Ferrari’s racing heritage both in nods to driver and pit crew gear as well as the muscular curves of a car or the intricacies of chassis and engine.

“The Power of Desire” was a key inspiration for this collection. These garments celebrate desire’s durability and tension, which transform them into new silhouettes, enigmas and destinies. Anja perfectly embodies this mood and Willy has effortlessly captured these feelings in movement through his unique lens.

– Rocco Iannone, Ferrari Creative Director

While at first glance it might seem easy to say that the campaign is overly simplistic and Ferrari has plenty of visual history it could have drawn on, a deeper understanding recognizes the power of purity at play here. Iannone is in fact drawing on the brand’s rich history of athleticism and design, but confidently seeing it through a new sartorial lens. Couple that with Vanderperre’s minimal yet slick and somehow futuristic photographic approach, and the campaign becomes a vision of restrained yet unmistakable power.
