Renowned luxury brand LOEWE has expanded its presence with the inauguration of a new store in San José, California. Nestled in the prestigious Westfield Valley Fair shopping destination, the sophisticated 234-square-meter space offers a comprehensive selection of women’s and men’s ready-to-wear collections, as well as an array of bags, shoes, and accessories.
Drawing inspiration from creative director Jonathan Anderson’s CASA LOEWE concept, the San José Valley Fair store seamlessly blends modern design elements with artisanal traditions. Visitors are greeted by a calming palette of cool blues, whites, and earthy browns, with ceramic tiles adorning the walls in rippling blocks of contrasting colors against muted concrete floor tiles.
Tactile details such as brushed brass and black turned iron accents add a sense of weight and sophistication to the space, while carefully curated furniture selections, including Gerrit Thomas Rietveld’s geometric armchairs and LOEWE’s iconic iron martini tables, exude understated elegance.
Emphasizing the brand’s dedication to craftsmanship, bespoke wool carpets featuring vibrant designs by British textile artist John Allen adorn the floors, alongside a George Nakashima Conoid bench, showcasing LOEWE’s commitment to celebrating craft in all its forms.
The store also serves as a platform for contemporary art and design, featuring hand-picked works from LOEWE’s international anthology. Japanese glass artist Maki Imoto and South African ceramic artist Madoda Fani showcase their pieces, inviting viewers to explore dimension and texture through abstracted forms.
British artist Helen Marten’s thought-provoking mixed media work, “Low Temperature Civics” (2018), challenges conventional perceptions of everyday objects, infusing the space with a sense of playfulness and intrigue.
