The Prolific Fashion and Fine Art Photographer is Celebrated With a Special Exhibition at Antwerp’s Fashion Museum
MoMu, the Fashion Museum of Antwerp, has announced an exhibition exploring the work of Belgian photographer Willy Vanderperre.
One of the leading image-makers operating in high fashion and its intersections with the world of fine art, Vanderperre’s editorial work regularly appears in magazines such as AnOther Magazine, Dust, i-D, Perfect, Vogue, and W Magazine. He has also photographed campaigns for fashion houses such as Dior and Prada, and is a go-to collaborator of Raf Simons and stylist Olivier Rizzo.
“WILLY VANDERPERRE: prints, films, a rave, and more…” highlights how Vanderperre’s fascination with youth has been a motivational force throughout his work for almost three decades. In dialogue with his photographs, he also selected several artworks to be showcased that have been an important source of inspiration in the ongoing development of his universe. The overview of his photographic practice explores the evolution of its visual language, as well as the years of collaboration with Olivier Rizzo and Raf Simons.
The exhibition is co-curated by Vanderperre and MoMu’s curator Romy Cockx. It kicks off with an opening event on the evening of April 26th, and will run through August 4th.
