The Hood By Air Designer Puts a Deconstructionist and Sportswear-Inspired Spin on JPG’s Iconic Archives
Jean Paul Gaultier has extended its guest designer program with the announcement of an upcoming collaboration with designer Shayne Oliver, best known for his brand Hood By Air.
The capsule will encompass approximately 50 ready-to-wear pieces that draw on various elements of the Gaultier archives, from its iconic use of denim to lesser-known areas like its sportswear offshoots.
The collaboration forms another chapter in JPG’s revitalization of its ready-to-wear category, which was officially retired in 2014, but in recent years has been making a quietly confident comeback as the brand harnessed the success of its guest-designer couture series.
