The Musician Joins as the Face of Rabanne’s New Million Gold Eau de Parfum Intense
Indie musician and actor Moses Sumney has been appointed as the ambassador of Million Gold Eau de Parfum Intense, the upcoming masculine fragrance by Rabanne, set to be released in August.
Sumney, recognized for his soulful and genre-bending musical approach and distinctive personal style, has achieved critical acclaim with albums that topped the lists of notable publications like The New York Times, NPR, Pitchfork, The Guardian, and Rolling Stone. He stars in the upcoming final installment of the new cult favorite X film trilogy, MaXXXine, and is dropping a new EP this Friday.
“The ads are so iconic,” the musician said, reflecting on his entry point into the visual world of the brand. “I’ve had a list of things that I’ve wanted to do with my career — like a vision board — and Rabanne has been really high on that list for many years. So, getting to do this was weirdly a dream come true.”
Rabanne vice president Jérôme Leloup said Sumney “is bringing a lot of modernity to the way we display Million, a slightly more fluid type of masculinity. And, of course, he’s an amazing dancer and a singer.”
Million Gold follows in the footsteps of Rabanne’s iconic 1 Million fragrance from 2008, featuring a bottle shaped like a gold ingot adorned with the house’s distinctive XL link.
The fragrance will debut in the U.S., Brazil, and Rabanne’s direct-to-consumer network on Thursday, followed by a rollout in Germany on August 5 and globally between August 15 and September 1.
