Dwayne Wade Will Serve as Guest Editor for the First Issue of the Iconic Fashion Editor’s Latest Initiative
Carine Roitfeld, along with her son Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld, CEO of CR Fashion Book, have announced their new magazine venture that will focus on the intersection of fashion and sports. Dwyane Wade will serve as the inaugural guest editor for the yet-to-be-named project. This new initiative will feature a biannual magazine for both men and women, along with what is described as an “interdisciplinary platform,” offering e-commerce, brand collaborations, capsule collections, and exclusive merchandise drops.
The magazine and platform will focus on the intersection of fashion and sports, encompassing exclusive interviews, features on athletes who are style influencers, activewear trends, and style advice from fashion experts. It aims to explore how sports continue to shape high fashion, with content that appeals to both fashion and sports enthusiasts.
The Roitfelds envision this project as a unique blend of sports and fashion, designed to foster a community that appreciates both. They see this new vertical as an extension of CR Fashion Book, but with a broader appeal, offering something distinctive by merging these two worlds.
Wade, who is also featured on the cover of the latest issue of CR Men, has long been involved in the fashion industry. In addition to his post-NBA career modeling and appearing in Versace campaigns, he has used fashion as a form of self-expression during his basketball career. Wade is also known for his annual “A Night on the RunWade” event, which raises funds for his family foundation, showcasing Miami Heat players modeling looks from various brands.
