KFN Launches New Vision for New York Fashion Week

A new decentralized model aims to ease costs, boost creativity, and reenergize New York’s cultural landscape

KFN has officially launched Phase I of its ambitious multi-phase plan to reimagine New York Fashion Week (NYFW), signaling a transformative shift in how the city’s iconic event will operate moving forward. Unveiled at The Standard Hotel, the new initiative introduces a decentralized model designed to alleviate financial barriers, empower creative freedom, and bring NYFW into closer alignment with New York City’s cultural fabric.

At the heart of this initiative is the debut of the Venue Collective™, a network of fully contracted spaces offered at no cost to participating designers. These venues come equipped with comprehensive logistical support—covering everything from backstage infrastructure and hair/makeup layouts to permitting and wireless show communication systems—allowing designers to focus solely on their creative vision.

“Our goal is to provide the tools, environment, and long-term support designers need to thrive,” said Imad Izemrane, Co-Founder of KFN. “New York is the perfect canvas for fashion’s future, and NYFW should reflect the energy and diversity of the city.”

Designers participating in the program will commit to a three-season run, creating space for continuity, audience-building, and strategic momentum. Applications are now open, with early interest from both emerging labels and established names.

KFN is a joint venture between Kilburn Media’s fashion arm, KF Fashion, and experiential agency N4XT Experiences. The program is architected in partnership with industry veteran Leslie Russo of The Culture Shop, known for her transformative leadership at IMG’s Global Fashion Events.

While the CFDA remains the official organizer of NYFW, overseeing its calendar and programming, CEO Steven Kolb expressed support: “We welcome what KFN is doing to support the industry at large. This model brings greater accessibility and efficiency to NYFW.”

KFN’s long-term plans extend beyond the runway. Future phases will include public activations, cultural programming, nightlife events, and integrated digital experiences designed to expand NYFW’s cultural impact and reconnect it with the creative pulse of the city.

Backed by strategic collaboration, strong infrastructure, and a mission to foster inclusion and innovation, KFN’s launch marks the beginning of a reinvigorated NYFW—one rooted in creativity, access, and long-term growth.
