Three sculptural frames rethink the future of eyewear and expand Ray-Ban’s visual language

A$AP Rocky and Ray-Ban are back with a new collaborative release: the “Next Generation” collection, a sculptural and forward-looking trio of eyewear styles first revealed during the AWGE Spring 2025 show in Paris.

Now officially launched, the collection introduces three dramatic silhouettes—Ultra Wrap 001, 002, and 003—that push the boundaries of Ray-Ban’s legacy. Each pair features a distinctively futuristic design language: sweeping curves, exaggerated temples, and wide, wraparound lenses that suggest something between sport, sci-fi, and streetwear.

The Ultra Wrap 001 leans sleek and streamlined, with a wraparound style that hugs the face without feeling heavy-handed. The 002 shifts toward boldness, with a wide, visor-like lens and minimal frame, drawing attention to its sharply masked structure. Meanwhile, the 003 balances volume and precision, with thick curved temples and full-coverage lenses.

While the shapes nod to retro-futurism, they avoid falling into nostalgia. Instead, the collection feels like a natural extension of Rocky’s long-standing approach to fashion: one that blends technical innovation with expressive flair. The launch packaging is equally considered. Each pair comes in a rigid plexiglass cube case stamped with the A$AP Rocky x Ray-Ban logo, which adds another layer of design intention to the experience.

The collaboration also reflects Rocky’s deeper role at the brand. As the first creative director of Ray-Ban, he’s been tasked with helping reimagine the heritage label through a contemporary lens, and the “Next Generation” collection feels like a first step: it is not eyewear made to disappear into a look, but to define one.
