The eyewear brand introduced its latest foldable designs through an immersive retail concept on Melrose Avenue that blends product innovation with experiential engagement
Gentle Monster hosted a private event on June 4 to mark the launch of its 2026 Veggie Collection and the opening of a dedicated pop-up space in West Hollywood, California. The activation, located on Melrose Avenue, introduced the new collection through an immersive environment designed around oversized vegetable-inspired installations and interactive digital experiences.

The pop-up reimagines the collection’s playful concept as a garden-like landscape populated by “Veggiemon,” whimsical vegetable-inspired characters that appear throughout the space. At its center is a large-scale tomato sculpture surrounded by immersive installations intended to bring the collection’s visual identity into a physical environment. Visitors are also invited to engage with an AI-powered photo booth that generates personalized Veggiemon avatars and printable keepsake cards.
The 2026 Veggie Collection translates the colors and forms of vegetables into ten foldable eyewear silhouettes, continuing Gentle Monster’s focus on combining experimental design with functional innovation. The launch also introduces Veggiemon bag charms and plush keychains developed as companion accessories to the collection, further extending the concept beyond eyewear.
Guests attending the opening event included Nara Smith, Amelia Gray, Delilah Belle, Inde Navarrette, Isabela Merced, Towa Bird, Karen Fukuhara, Michael Cimino, Nikki Rodriguez, and MAX. The evening featured music by DJ Sophie Gray alongside food and beverage offerings created in partnership with Los Angeles restaurant group Mozza.

Available online and in stores beginning June 5, the collection is accompanied by a limited-edition blind box offered as a gift-with-purchase while supplies last. Fresh Beverly Hills juice will also be available throughout the opening weekend. The public pop-up is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 8626 Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood.
The launch reflects Gentle Monster’s continued investment in experiential retail as a core component of its brand strategy. As eyewear brands increasingly compete through immersive consumer engagement and social-media-driven activations, the Veggie Collection demonstrates how product launches are evolving into multidimensional experiences that extend beyond traditional retail environments.
