Written and directed by Ugo Bienvenu with Studio Remembers, the original animated film journeys through the fragrance’s history, from the gardens of Grasse to Christian Dior’s revolutionary 1947 New Look
Dior is bringing Miss Dior into animation for the first time with an original film written, directed, and produced by Ugo Bienvenu and the team at French animation studio Remembers. The project transforms Miss Dior into an animated heroine while tracing the people, places, and creative ideas that shaped the House’s founding fragrance.

Bienvenu and Remembers bring to the project the poetic visual language behind Arco, the acclaimed animated film co-produced by Natalie Portman. Here, their fluid, hand-drawn approach moves between fantasy and Dior history, guided by a playful bee through a landscape filled with roses, enchanted gardens, and references to the House’s enduring codes.
The narrative moves between Grasse and Paris, incorporating figures and locations central to Christian Dior’s story. Catherine Dior, the couturier’s sister and inspiration behind the fragrance’s name, appears alongside the Château de La Colle Noire, Christian Dior’s home in the Provençal countryside. The film also recalls the flower-filled night that inspired the creation of the original fragrance before racing forward to the presentation of Dior’s New Look in 1947.
Archival references are woven into the fantasy through recognizable Miss Dior signatures, including houndstooth, oversized bows, flowers, and imagery that recalls past fragrance campaigns. Couture and perfume remain closely connected throughout, framing Miss Dior’s history not as a static retrospective but as a continually evolving part of the House’s identity.
The project also places emphasis on the craft of animation itself. Through techniques that require extensive time and specialized expertise, Dior draws a parallel between the preservation of traditional animation and the savoir-faire behind its haute couture and fragrance creations. The result positions the film as both a celebration of Miss Dior’s history and an exploration of how heritage can be retold through a new creative medium.
