Adidas Extends Originals Label with Women’s Performancewear Collection

The Originals Sport collection carries the brand’s lifestyle aesthetic into technical training apparel as style becomes a growing priority in women’s activewear

Adidas is expanding its Originals franchise with the launch of Originals Sport, its first training collection under the Originals umbrella. The women’s performance line combines the brand’s signature Originals design language with technical performance fabrics, reflecting growing consumer demand for activewear that delivers both athletic function and everyday style. The campaign is led by singer Tate McRae, Argentine artist Emilia Mernes, and volleyball player Harper Murray; the casting reinforces Adidas’ strategy to position the collection at the intersection of sports, fashion, and culture. The launch extends one of Adidas’ strongest lifestyle franchises into performance apparel as the distinction between sport and fashion continues to narrow.

The collection reinterprets Adidas Originals’ signatures, including Trefoil branding, three-stripe detailing, and heritage silhouettes, seen through sports bras, leggings, tanks, layering pieces, and onesies. As for functionality, the brand utilized performance technology such as Climacool, AdiSoft, and Lycra Adaptiv to support ventilation, increase comfort, and provide an adaptive fit that allows movement and responsiveness. Retail prices range from $40 to $80, and will launch July 23rd globally.

Rather than introducing an entirely new category, Originals Sport extends one of Adidas’ strongest lifestyle franchises into performance wear. The move reflects a broader shift in activewear, where performance is increasingly expected to coexist with style.
