Alexander McQueen CEO Emmanuel Gintzburger Heads to Versace, While Gianfilippo Testa Succeeds Him at McQueen
Less than a week after Alexander McQueen’s Fall 2022 show in New York, the Kering-owned brand announced that its CEO Emmanuel Gintzburger is exiting. Soon after, Kering announced that Gucci executive Gianfillipo Testa will be succeeding him at McQueen, effective beginning in May.
Meanwhile, Gintzburger is heading to Versace, which is owned by Michael Kors’ Capri Holdings. That appointment goes into effect on the 12th of September.
Gintzburger has served as CEO for Alexander McQueen since 2016, a time during which he oversaw the company enjoy rapid commercial growth under the creative directorship of Sarah Burton. Before that, he held leadership positions at Lanvin, Sephora, and Louis Vuitton.
Testa, Gintzburger’s successor at McQueen, was most recently president of EMEA and VP global retail at Gucci. He started his career at Tag Heuer in 2002 and went on to hold a range of roles at LVMH – specifically at Fendi in Italy, Japan, and Hong Kong. He joined Kering in 2016 as president of Gucci for Greater China.
