Ashley Brokaw started her fashion career with Bruce Weber as his Production Assistant. Now, she is understood to be one of the fashions’ premier casting directors. She founded her own New York based agency in 2005 and from there she’s established an impressive client list that includes Balenciaga, Proenza Schouler and Loewe, casting for shows in London, Milan and Paris.
Brokaw has collaborated on a great many editorials for fashion magazines like Vogue, Vanity Fair, and Interview. She also has been the source of talent for brands’ marketing find stars like Eva Mendes and Amber Valetta for Calvin Klein and Coach respectively.
“She has a foresight. She has a stamp of approval,” Designer Jonathan Anderson has said to T Magazine. “She finds faces, and she takes risks on faces. All the faces that we see today are passed through Ashley.”
Brokaw was appointed as casting director for the Prada and Miu Miu brands in early 2012. Ever since then, she has taken charge of the brand’s catwalk shows and marketing campaigns.
