The Two Special Collections Encompass Objects, Apparel, and Accessories and Are Highlighted With Retail Activations
Just in time for summer, Balenciaga is launching two new collections of objects, apparel, and accessories with unique retail and campaign activations: the Souvenir Shop and Summer Objects collection.
Starting June 19th and running through September 23rd, 2024, Balenciaga is adding a new screen window installation to its Saint Honoré storefront in Paris. This installation marks the launch of a unique series of collectables, available in select stores, with the flagship store in Paris offering the most extensive selection. This initiative, timed with the high tourist season, aims to capture the essence of Parisian street souvenir stands, bringing a fresh perspective to these familiar displays.
The Souvenir Shop features a variety of reimagined Parisian tourist merchandise. Items such as mugs, umbrellas, lidded porcelain tumblers, enameled metal magnets, keyrings, brass padlocks, decorative plates, glasses, and snow globes have all been given a Balenciaga twist. Each piece prominently features the brand’s stamp alongside iconic Parisian symbols like renditions of the Eiffel Tower and French street signs.
In tandem with the Souvenir Shop, Balenciaga is also launching a new series in its Objects line on June 19th, 2024. This collection celebrates the summer season with a range of sports equipment and beach accessories. The items include a volleyball, a large towel, a board for water sports, a set of pétanque boules, and a racquet set. Each item, rendered in solid black, features the distinctive 8-like B logo, either printed, embossed, woven, or engraved.
The campaign promoting these new items aligns with Balenciaga’s “It’s Different” concept, pairing brand signatures with new releases under catchy slogans. Phrases like “Life’s a Beach,” “It’s Your Turn,” “Out Of Office,” and “All Fun And Games” accompany the monochromatic items, photographed against a clean white background, encapsulating the spirit of summer.
