Balenciaga Unveils Its 2026 Skiwear Collection

The 2026 collection combines performance outerwear, safety technology and winterized accessories with the house’s distinctive approach to design

Balenciaga will launch its 2026 Skiwear Collection on October 15, combining technical apparel designed for snow sports with city-ready clothing and accessories. Designed by Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli, the collection spans men’s and women’s apparel, footwear, bags and accessories, positioning skiwear as part of a broader winter wardrobe that moves between the slopes and urban settings.

The collection introduces thermoregulating down outerwear, advanced textiles designed for warmth, wind protection, durability and aerodynamics, and select outerwear equipped with RECCO reflectors. The passive technology helps professional rescuers locate wearers in an emergency without requiring activation or charging. Functional details also include reflective graphics and Balenciaga-branded zipper pull tabs, integrating the house’s visual identity into practical garment features.

Apparel includes high-collar parkas, reversible blousons, cropped puffers, stola jackets and snow pants in technical cotton and nylon, alongside lined denim, knitwear, tracksuits and jersey layers. Hand-drawn prints inspired by mountain animal hides and faux fur appear in high-visibility colors, extending the collection’s visual language beyond conventional technical ski apparel. The range is designed to accommodate both snow-sport use and everyday winter dressing.

Balenciaga’s Le City, Le 7, Rodeo and Le City Backpack bags are reworked in materials including merino shearling, waxed suede, vintage goat and Arena lamb. The color palette spans polar blue, storm grey, optic white, rose quartz, light espresso and caramel. Footwear includes the oversized Alaska boot and flatform mule, alongside winterized Combat Strike and nubuck-and-Nappa Arctic styles, characterized by substantial soles and nylon lacing. Ski masks, snow-glare sunglasses, gloves, scarves, earmuffs, beanies, headbands and other cold-weather accessories complete the offering.

The campaign supporting the collection includes photographs by Adam Peter Johnson, videos by Robbie Corral and detail imagery by Aude le Barbey. The imagery emphasizes the line’s indoor-outdoor versatility, placing the garments in Parisian interiors disrupted by surreal snowfall. The setting connects the collection’s technical purpose with Balenciaga’s interest in contrasting familiar environments with unexpected visual elements.

Available in select stores worldwide and on Balenciaga’s website, the collection reflects the continued expansion of luxury houses into performance-oriented categories, where technical functionality and brand identity increasingly share the same product. For Balenciaga, the challenge is to make that crossover work across both the demands of winter conditions and the expectations of a fashion-led wardrobe.
