Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA, noted, “It’s the 20th anniversary of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. The design challenge allows us judges to see how the designers can follow an assignment.” Thanks to Hilfiger’s support, each finalist was given $10,000 to execute their vision, reviving a favorite moment from previous years of the competition.
This year’s finalists—Sebastien and Marianne Amisial (Sebastien Ami), Kate Barton, Grace Ling, Connor McKnight, Soull and Dynasty Ogun (L’Enchanteur), Presley Oldham, Spencer Phipps (Phipps), Taylor Thompson (5000), Jane Wade, and Jackson Wiederhoeft (Wiederhoeft)—arrived at the Warren Street Hotel to present their designs. Models, styled by the designers, showcased unique interpretations of the theme, with friendly camaraderie among the competitors evident as they prepared their muses for judging.
Grace Ling, dressed in her signature edgy style, chatted with model Alex Consani, while Jackson Wiederhoeft meticulously added final touches to a sparkling gown worn by AnnaSophia Robb. Jewelry designer Presley Oldham snapped selfies with his muse, Louisa Jacobson, who donned a pearl halter top adorned with diamonds and moonstones.
After presenting their designs to the judges, including Hilfiger and Kolb, the finalists joined attendees at The Orangery for a cocktail reception.
