Chanel Celebrates Coco Mademoiselle With New York Pop-Up

The Meatpacking District activation translates Gracie Abrams’ new campaign into an immersive café-inspired fragrance experience

Chanel is bringing the world of Coco Mademoiselle to New York City with a temporary fragrance experience celebrating the launch of Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu. Open to the public across two weekends in September, the activation will transform a space in the Meatpacking District into an immersive interpretation of the fragrance’s newly unveiled campaign.

The setting takes its cues from the café at the center of the new Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu film starring Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and Chanel ambassador Gracie Abrams. Guests can take a seat at the bar or a table for a personalized fragrance discovery centered on Crush Absolu, translating the campaign’s cinematic environment into a physical experience.

Beyond the new scent, visitors will be able to explore the wider Coco Mademoiselle fragrance collection, complementary hair and body products, and a selection of new and signature Chanel makeup. The space will also incorporate photo opportunities and on-site shopping, extending the activation from fragrance discovery into the broader Chanel beauty universe.

The pop-up reflects the increasingly experiential approach surrounding major fragrance launches, using the campaign itself as the foundation for a consumer-facing environment rather than treating film, product, and retail as separate moments. For Chanel, the café concept offers a particularly direct bridge between the fictional world inhabited by Abrams and the audience experiencing it in New York.

The Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu experience will be free and open to the public September 11–13 and September 18–20 in the Meatpacking District. Appointments are recommended, though walk-ins will also be accepted.
