Review of Chanel Fall 2021 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Virginie Viard with Photographers Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin with models Louise De Chevigny, Mica Argañaraz, Rianne Van Rompaey, & Vivienne Rohner
Chanel hits the slopes in a new Fall 2021 campaign by photography duo Inez & Vinoodh that gives a winter freshness to the house’s campaign setting a solid tone for the Virginie Viard era.
The duo captures their subjects on the patio of a ski lodge overlooking an alpine town nestled among grandiose, snow-covered mountains. The smoldering comfort of our heroines provides an exquisite contrast with the rugged, intimidating mountain peaks. An adorably fluffy ski patrol dog makes a welcome cameo.
The location feels perfect for the personality of the new collection, which features cropped knits, quilting, boots, and faux fur – an elevated vision of the aprè-ski aesthetic. The combination makes for a campaign that is both hot hot hot and oh so cool.
