J12∙20 Summer 2020 Digital Ad Campaign


One of the most well-known fashion houses in the world, Chanel has produced countless iconic designs throughout its 110 years in business. To commemorate the 20th birthday of one of these famous items, the J12 watch, various famed products are coming together on one watch face, through symbols and references that embody the spirit of the luxury brand.

The latest version of the watch is presented in a way that focuses on what has made the label all that it is throughout the past 20, and 110, years. The black and white clips call on the familiar tick-tock of a clock, serving as a pure celebration of the watch itself, and the brand as a whole. Set simply against a white background and sported by a smiling model looking into the camera, the campaign portrays a somewhat relaxed persona, despite the elegance of the watch itself and all that it represents. This lowering-of-the-stakes works to the house’s advantage, promoting the growth of the product and the attention to detail.

Whether it’s the renowned No. 5 perfume bottle, or lipstick that, if colored, would clearly be the recognized ‘rouge,’ all the sketches on the watch are spot-on in their simplified representation of the classic brand. What better way to commemorate timelessness than on the face of a watch!
