Beginning his music career early as a teenage heartthrob, Simpson here seems to be shedding his boy-wonder status in favor of a bulked-up sex symbol. It’s a look that fits well with the Versace attitude and ethos; he exudes a sophisticated swagger as he lounges nonchalantly – though fully clothed – in a bathtub. The set-piece is smartly chosen, as it feels suggestive of both summer and sensuality, as well as giving Simpson an excuse to get his shirt wet and show off his rippling, tatted-up arm muscles.
With an aptly chosen star at home in his element, the simple campaign makes a big splash.
