British Designer to Head Fashion Design, Continuing the Legacy of Iconic Fashion Professors
The University of Applied Arts Vienna has tapped renowned British menswear designer, Craig Green, as the head of its fashion design department. This role has previously been graced by industry luminaries like Karl Lagerfeld, Vivienne Westwood, Raf Simons, and Grace Wales Bonner.
Craig Green’s distinctive and impassioned approach to design, coupled with his considerable accolades, positions him as a leader in the UK’s bold and innovative fashion realm. Known for his captivating and intricate designs, Green’s partnership with adidas and his continually evolving seasonal collections have solidified his prominence in the fashion world. With a brand founded in 2012 post his graduation from the Fashion Masters course at Central Saint Martins College, Green’s contributions to the fashion industry have been celebrated with multiple awards including British Menswear Designer at the Fashion Awards 2016, 2017, and 2018, Menswear Guest Designer at Pitti Uomo 94 in 2018, the BFC/GQ Designer Menswear Fund prize 2016, and Emerging Menswear Designer at the British Fashion Awards 2014.

The University of Applied Arts Vienna has been a nurturing ground for future fashion leaders, boasting graduates like Kenneth Ize, a finalist for the 2019 LVMH Prize, and Christoph Rumpf, the victor of the 2019 Hyères Festival.
Green’s appointment places him in a lineage of world-renowned designers who have mentored at the institution since the 1980s, including, but not limited to, Vivienne Westwood, Helmut Lang, Hussein Chalayan, and Grace Wales Bonner.
