Dazed Media Appoints Sophie McElligott as Chief Marketing Officer

The Appointment Comes as a Promotion From Her Previous Role at Dazed as Marketing and Communications Director

Dazed Media has announced the appointment of Sophie McElligott as Chief Marketing Officer, overseeing the company’s global expansion and brand marketing strategy.

McElligott will be charged with strategic growth steering the company’s brand and purpose across Dazed Media’s portfolio AnOther, Another Man, Dazed, Dazed Beauty, Dazed Studio and Dazed Club, driving its membership strategy, partnerships and launches in new territories, and playing a key role in client and audience engagement.

Jefferson Hack, CEO and Co-Founder Dazed Media said, “We’ve appointed Sophie to steer the company’s brand and image direction at a pivotal time in the history of Dazed. We recently extended the brand into new properties including launching the Dazed Space and the Dazed Club app connecting next generation creatives all over the world to accelerate their careers and allow them to exchange ideas and work. It’s a completely unique proposition that has the power to be transformative in the lives of young people. Our current focus is to create a deeper offering for users and to get Dazed Club into the hands of young people all over the world including in the USA, Latin America, Asia and the MENA region with Sophie steering new marketing partnerships and special collaborations to make this possible.”

Previously McElligott held the role of Marketing and Communications Director at Dazed Media, having joined the company in 2015. Since her time at the company, McElligott has overseen over 350 events and partnerships all over the world with brands including Gucci, Prada, Burberry, Maison Margiela, Louis Vuitton, Raf Simons, Rick Owens, and Comme des Garçons; platforms including Meta, TikTok, and YouTube; institutions including Tate, Barbican, Southbank, and ICA; and with talent including Naomi Campbell, Björk, Tilda Swinton, Kendall Jenner, FKA twigs, Pamela Anderson, Luca Guadagnino, Kate Moss, and more. She was responsible for leading Dazed’s launch in the China market, created and launched Dazed Live and founded Dazed Academy, the company’s education pillar which was later developed into Dazed Club.
