Doubling Down on Denim
From its humble beginnings as a workwear staple, to its elevation to couture, denim is having a moment, lead in no small part by Glenn Martens who has been manipulating it into fur-like textures and knitted weaves across Y/Project, Diesel, and Jean Paul Gaultier. Seen across all four cities, it was doubled-up in acid wash sets, distressed in hip-hugging loose fits, and emblazoned in blue-hued wallpaper florals that were given an edge when layered with a laser-cut corset.
