The International Forum Will Focus on Barriers to Sustainable Development in Fashion
Global Fashion Agenda has revealed the theme for the upcoming Global Fashion Summit: Copenhagen Edition 2025 as “Barriers and Bridges.” The prominent sustainability forum, held under the patronage of Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark, will take place from June 3-5, 2025, at the Copenhagen Concert Hall. Known for its focus on sustainable development in fashion, the Summit aims to use the theme to explore how industry obstacles can also serve as pathways for meaningful change. Registration for the event is now open.
As the fashion sector faces growing regulatory demands and pressures for sustainability, the Summit will convene industry stakeholders from fashion and adjacent sectors to address the challenges and opportunities of the moment. With legislation intensifying, the lines between voluntary and mandated initiatives are becoming less distinct, underscoring the need for strategic adaptation and investment. The Summit’s content will explore these dualities, examining ways to turn regulatory and operational barriers into actionable bridges for progress.
The theme “Barriers and Bridges” will be woven throughout the Summit’s three stages, where experts will address pressing topics in social and environmental sustainability. Speakers are expected to present strategies for balancing conflicting demands, such as achieving climate leadership while ensuring business resilience, and navigating between immediate actions and long-term goals.
The Summit’s Innovation Forum will feature a curated selection of sustainable solutions across the value chain, from innovative materials to advanced waste management processes. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect directly with solution providers and engage in one-on-one meetings through the Innovation Forum’s Matchmaking Programme, designed to foster collaborations that support sustainability goals.
“Fashion is one of the world’s most dynamic and influential industries, with the power to drive change globally. Climate adaptation is now as crucial as mitigation. Transformation requires more than incremental change; it demands bold leadership, courageous investment, and the drive to reimagine business models. In this era of transformation, Global Fashion Summit is critical to enabling collaboration and guiding implementation,” said Federica Marchionni, CEO of Global Fashion Agenda.
