Gucci & Amy Sacco Celebrate Bungalow Gucci In Honor Of The New Meatpacking Boutique

In honor of the new Gucci Meatpacking boutique, Gucci hosted a one-night only nostalgic ode to the Meatpacking nightlife heyday with Bungalow 8 founder Amy Sacco.

The celebration was held in the heart of New York City’s Meatpacking district, neighboring the original Bungalow 8 nightclub, transporting guests back in time to the club’s prime, including the iconic NO VACANCY sign, made famous from the original Bungalow 8 facade. Gucci has a history of celebrating iconic nostalgic New York nightlife destinations including B Bar in the Lower East Side in 2015.

Guests mixed and mingled while enjoying bites inspired by the New York neighborhood, as well as nods to the original Bungalow 8 menu, including well known cocktails from the club such as Cosmopolitans. Décor was inspired by Gucci’s newest New York retail presence: Meatpacking, which opened its doors in early April. Purple floors throughout the space are a nod to the vintage furniture sourced for the new Boutique, as well as pink accents throughout the space that recall the store’s Demetra walls, a more environmentally friendly animal-free textile pioneered by Gucci. The grid-like DJ booth, a nod to the ceilings featured within the store, evokes the industrial character of the neighborhood. Guests enjoyed music by Memphy (in Gucci), before ushering in a special DJ set by Idris Elba (in Gucci), face of Gucci’s 25H Timepiece collection and close friend of the House.

In attendance were Amy Sacco and Gucci’s Susan Chokachi, EVP Chief Brand and Client Officer, and guests including Alton Mason, Alexa Chung, Amy Lefévre, Athena Calderone, Bakar, Beanie Feldstein, Bethann Hardison, Cara Delevingne, Catherine Keener, Chris Meloni, Chris Rock, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Dasha Zhukova, Derek Blasberg, Disco, Edward Enninful, Emma Seligman, Florence Pugh, François-Henri Pinault & Salma Hayek Pinault, Harris Dickinson, Harrison Patrick Smith (The Dare), Harry Lambert, Idris & Sabrina Elba, Iman, Jackson Lee, Jerrod Carmichael, Jeremy O. Harris, Karen Elson, Kristine Froseth, Lauren Santo Domingo, Leigh Lezark, Leonardo DiCaprio, Memphy, Olivia DeJonge, Phoebe Bridgers, Reign Judge, Selby Drummond, Sienna Miller, Steven Klein, Teyana Taylor, Tom Sturridge, Valentina Pinault, Wisdom Kaye, and more.

Earlier this month, Gucci announced the opening of its latest store on the corner of W 14th Street and 9th Avenue in New York City’s Meatpacking District. Spanning two levels, the boutique counts over 9,000 square feet of retail space including an exclusive area dedicated to private appointments.
