Leberichel Brings Extensive Experience to Gucci’s Restructuring Initiative
As part of a significant executive restructuring process for Gucci, Valérie Leberichel will join the Italian luxury brand at the end of December as the new senior vice president of global communications. Reporting directly to deputy CEO Stefano Cantino, Leberichel will bring her extensive 27-year experience in marketing and communications to her new role. This strategic appointment is part of Cantino’s effort to restructure and refocus Gucci, aimed at driving the brand’s turnaround.
Leberichel’s background includes her recent position as global vice president of communications at Givenchy, which itself has been undergoing changes under creative director Sarah Burton. Her career has spanned notable roles, including communications director at Issey Miyake Europe, a ten-year tenure at Celine, and a key position in Miu Miu’s global communications within the Prada Group.
Cantino and Leberichel have a longstanding professional connection, with Cantino himself having held various high-level roles at Prada for over two decades. A market source stated that Leberichel is expected to “establish a strategic vision for brand positioning and craft a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy designed to enhance brand awareness, strengthen emotional connections with audiences across all channels, and drive product demand.”
Following the recent exit of Gucci’s chief brand officer Alessio Vannetti, Leberichel will oversee the PR, communications, events, and other related teams, adding another layer to Gucci’s evolving leadership under Cantino’s vision.
