Review of Jacquemus Winter 2022 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Simon Porte Jacquemus with Talent Pamela Anderson
Jacquemus celebrates the end of the holidays with a cheekily chic new campaign starring the one-and-only Pamela Anderson.
The campaign sees the iconic American actress head across the pond to Jacquemus’ home of Paris. Clad in looks from the designer’s Le Raphia collection – which debuted just last month with a show where Anderson was in attendance – the star strolls the boulevards, hops on a Vespa, and takes a spritz break at a cafe.
Complete with a Baywatch-esque soundtrack, the accompanying short film follows Anderson as she drags a Christmas tree down the Parisian streets, presumably to throw it away now that Christmas is over – a reality of which she sassily reminds a fake-bearded Santa who tries to wish her a late “joyeux Noël.”
It’s fun to see Jacquemus say loud and proud what many of us have been thinking, but feeling like we aren’t allowed to say: thank God that the Christmas season – and especially the season of Christmas advertising and consumerism – is finally over. It’s hard to think of a better way to say it than by teaming up with the legendary Pam A, who subversively brings a hearty dose of American summer heat to the Parisian winter.
