The London-Based Designer is the Latest Guest to Take on JPG’s Legacy
Jean Paul Gaultier has announced that Simone Rocha will be the next designer to create an haute couture collection for the brand’s ongoing guest designer series. Rocha will be the sixth guest designer to create a couture collection for the brand, following on previous collections from such illustrious names as Julien Dossena, Chitose Abe, Glenn Martens, and more, who have each put their one-off spin on Gaultier’s iconic legacy since the designer’s retirement in 2020.
The announcement came just a day after Rocha showed her Spring 2024 collection at London Fashion Week to great acclaim.
Since launching her eponymous brand in 2010, the Irish designer has become one of the most anticipated slots on the LFW calendar, and was named Young Designer of the Year in 2014 by Harper’s Bazaar and Womenswear Designer of the Year 2016 at the British Fashion Awards. She has also previously collaborated with Moncler, H&M, and now, just debuted at her show, Crocs.
Simone Rocha’s couture collection for Jean Paul Gaultier will be shown in Paris in January 2024.
