Streetwear designer John Elliott has opened his Miami Design District flagship. Situated within the global creative hub, John Elliott injects his signature West Coast attitude into the historic neighborhood.
The 3,300 square foot space designed by Stephan Weimer is the brand’s second physical footprint following the 2019 opening of the Melrose Avenue location.
The store expands off design language defined in Los Angeles, refining modular and utilitarian construction. The store presents both seasonal and core Men’s and Women’s collections.
Mindful of the new setting among contemporary architects and public art, the District flagship is an environment of contrasting elements and inviting textures. Tile is treated as a soft, organic object to complement high-tech leather collections and uniquely dyed Japanese denims.
A high gloss finish is applied to dressing room floors, juxtaposed against a matte retail space for a distinct feeling between the two. Perspectives change as visitors move throughout the space, with iridescent and mirrored surfaces throughout. Nature is a key element for the brand, previously defined by the craggy mountains and soaring palms of California, now embracing the broad jade fronds of local plants found throughout the boutique. John Elliott’s west coast influence is sure to be a dynamic addition to the Miami streets.
