Based in Milan, Spitzer will report to Kering CEO Luca de Meo and join the luxury group’s Executive Committee. He will be tasked with strengthening Bottega Veneta’s desirability, deepening its relationships with clients worldwide and driving retail excellence across global markets.

Spitzer brings more than 30 years of international luxury industry experience to the role, with expertise spanning brand management, retail and client experience. He most recently served as president and CEO of Fragrance Group LVMH Beauty, overseeing a portfolio of luxury fragrance houses.

“Bottega Veneta is one of the strongest and most distinctive Houses in luxury, with exceptional craftsmanship, a unique creative identity and remarkable growth potential,” de Meo said. “Romain has the leadership, vision and international experience to unlock the next phase of the House’s development.”

A graduate of ESCP Business School, Spitzer began his career at Guerlain in 1995 as a product manager. He later held marketing positions at Jean Paul Gaultier Parfums and Yves Saint Laurent Parfums, rising to international marketing director at the latter.

Spitzer joined Parfums Christian Dior in 2006 as head of its fragrance business unit. He went on to serve as general manager for Spain and regional general manager for Europe.

In 2016, he was named president and CEO of LVMH Fragrance Brands, initially overseeing Parfums Givenchy and Kenzo. His responsibilities later expanded to include Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Acqua di Parma, Loewe Perfumes, Officine Universelle Buly and New Ventures.

At Bottega Veneta, Spitzer will be charged with guiding the house through its next phase of development while preserving the craftsmanship, creative identity and cultural relevance that have defined the brand.
