The Whimsical Pop-Up Inside Harrods London Celebrates Loro Piana’s 100th Anniversary
Loro Piana is the latest to take over Harrods for the holiday season. The brand is marking its 100th anniversary with an extensive holiday takeover at the department store in London, showcasing its heritage in textile craftsmanship and celebrating the spirit of Christmas. The “Workshop of Wonders,” open from November 7 through January 2, transforms the luxury department store’s 36 windows along Brompton Road and Hans Crescent with whimsical displays of baby goats, vicuñas perched on clouds, and bales of wool on a Ferris wheel, designed to captivate all ages, from loyal customers to passersby.
Damien Bertrand, Loro Piana’s CEO, expressed excitement about the project, emphasizing the goal of illustrating Loro Piana’s journey “from sheep to shop” while honoring the people and animals worldwide involved in creating the brand’s luxurious textiles. “They are all part of this beautiful chain of hands that transform raw materials into unique products that all have a little bit of each person’s soul in them,” Bertrand said.
Inside Harrods, Loro Piana has set up two pop-ups, each narrating parts of the brand’s story. The pop-up at Door 6 has a workshop theme, displaying leather goods, accessories, and scarves featuring signature motifs. A second pop-up at Door 9 focuses on home decor, offering items such as holiday decorations, stuffed animals, and even a wood-and-glass snow globe containing a cashmere goat.
On December 12, the displays will feature an interactive game, inviting visitors to follow a window-to-window trail, learn about the brand’s sourcing locations, and win prizes. The experience is designed to engage guests of all ages, as Bertrand noted: “People will be able to learn, to touch, to play. It’s perfect for the family and for anyone aged 7 to 97.”
Additionally, Loro Piana has opened a dedicated interiors store within Harrods, showcasing its Art of Good Living collection, which includes decor and textiles, holiday ornaments, and plush children’s toys. The brand is also debuting a newborn “pop-in” shop featuring a new stroller-bassinet collaboration with Inglesina, made from water-repellent linen and cotton canvas with cashmere-lined hand warmers for parents.
To commemorate the event, Loro Piana has crafted an exclusive capsule collection for men and women. The collection features equestrian-inspired designs, signature Harrods green accents, and hand-embroidered silk gowns for women, along with knitted dresses, black velvet flats, and high-heeled sandals adorned with gold thistle flowers.
