Louis Vuitton Invites Six Artists To Join The Artycapucines Collection

Louis Vuitton has revealed it’s latest selection of artists to reinterpret the design of its iconic Capucines bag

Louis Vuitton has refreshed its artisanal Artycapucines Capsule collection program, which sees a selection of six contemporary artists develop limited-edition variations of the houses iconic Capucines bag launched in 2013. The bag’s name is a nod to the Parisian street Rue des Neuves-Capucines, where the Maison opened its first store in 1854.

The collection celebrates the artistry of Beatriz Milhazes, Jean-Michel Othoniel, Josh Smith, Liu Wei, Henry Taylor, and Zhao Zhao. Each artist begins with the Capucines bag as their canvas, but the results vary drastically. The bag’s essence remains the same; it’s a staple of innovation and creativity, but the form and appearance demonstrate individuality. Each bag in the Artycapucines collection will be released in a limited edition of 200 in selected stores worldwide.
