The VP Steps Down Following Her Key Role in the Successful Expansion and Reworking of the Company’s Hiring Process
LVMH has announced via a brief statement that Chantal Gaemperle, Executive Vice President for Human Resources and Synergies, is exiting the company. Gaemperle will be departing after “creating a talent development and CSR policy to support the group’s growth,” in order to “pursue new projects.”
No news on Gaemperle’s successor has been released, and LVMH has refrained from commenting on the circumstances surrounding her sudden leave.
Gaemperle joined LVMH as a human resources director in 2007, transitioning from consumer goods giant Nestlé. She soon became a member of the LVMH executive committee. Throughout her tenure at the company, Gaemperle pursued a unique HR philosophy, advocating for promoting from within, increasing female representation in leading roles, and regularly exchanging executives among different business groups.
Since Gaemperle’s arrival, LVMH has expanded remarkably, growing from 65,000 employees to roughly 215,000 currently. Known for her efforts in promoting vocational training programs, recruitment tours, and initiatives focused on professional development for women, Gaemperle took on a more visible role in recent years.
Prior to her stint at Nestlé, where she held the position of head of corporate management development and sourcing from 2001, Gaemperle served as the HR director for Merrill Lynch in Switzerland. The University of Lausanne graduate started her professional journey at Philip Morris. It is anticipated that LVMH will recruit around 60,000 people this year.
