Skirts and dresses are still skimping on fabric, but this season outside of the early aughts micro styles, there are many more options to choose from. Cleaner, straighter cuts can carry colour and texture, add additional pockets and it can be layered over cargo pants, while flared versions seen at Monse, Loewe, and Simone Rocha gave it a girly edge. We were also shown how this style could be updated through the divisive love-it-or-hate-it bubble hem, or through layering ruffles and fringing (see Victoria Beckham), and the hi-low can be reworked by switching the longer hem from the back to the side à la Stella McCartney.
