The latest Miu Miu Signatures chapter revisits collegiate dressing through loafers, neat knits, checked skirts, and knee-high socks
Miu Miu is heading back to school with Collegiate Classics, the latest chapter of its Miu Miu Signatures series. Drawing on the familiar codes of academic dress, the collection revisits uniforms, loafers, knitwear, and checks through the slightly subversive lens that has made collegiate style a recurring part of the House’s vocabulary.
The loafer takes center stage, appearing alongside button-through cardigans, neat V-neck knits, checked skirts, and knee-high socks. Together, the pieces construct a recognizable school uniform while leaving room for the contrasts that define Miu Miu’s approach to familiar archetypes: proper and playful, nostalgic and contemporary, collective and individual.
Crafted in leather and suede, the loafers retain the blunt toe and sturdy block heel associated with Miu Miu’s signature silhouette. Rouched versions introduce pleated edges, while penny loafers are finished with a Miu Miu coin. Other interpretations range from matte and glossy finishes to patent and croc-stamped leather, expanding a single recognizable shape through subtle shifts in texture and detail.
Mary Jane-inspired hybrids further loosen the boundaries of the traditional loafer, combining cutaway constructions with polished brass buckles. Across the collection, a restrained palette of black, brown, and oxblood reinforces the sense of uniformity, with the Miu Miu signature embossed on each tongue.
