Narciso Rodriguez is the latest famed label to enter Zara’s increasingly impressive roster of guest designers. The resulting collaborative capsule is captured in an ephemerally elegant campaign by photographer Craig McDean.
The collaborative collection’s styles were drawn from Rodriguez’s archives, reworked in collaboration between the designer and Zara’s design team to create a fresh, accessible rendition of classic pieces.
McDean captures model Natalia Vodianovna in elegant studio portraits wherein she seems to float on air. Smart digital editing removes from the images the supports on which the model sits, lies, or leans, creating a striking image of weightlessness. It’s a fittingly sharp and effortless motif for a collection that pays homage to classic late-90s minimalism.
