Fall 2023 Fashion Show Review

Review of Nensi Dojaka Fall 2023 Fashion Show

Nensi Dojaka Evolves the Art of Sensual Seduction

By Angela Baidoo

A few days short of Valentines Day, Nensi Dojaka’s fall 2023 collection was an ode to love. Taking us inside the beating heart of her brand, her runway show was staged in a cavernous space that was bathed in the glow of passion – a vibrant and pulsating red.

A few days short of valentines day, Nensi Dojaka’s fall 2023 collection was an ode to love.

Dojaka’s particular method of manipulating fabric with pleating, sheer layers outlined with contrast seaming, and geometric multi-strapping details continues to create the sensual silhouettes that curve around and accentuate the female form. Which this season featured far fewer of the curvier kind, when London has been known as one of the most inclusive city’s, this season it has only just edged ahead of New York in respect to a broader range of casting choices.

In today’s collection, bodysuits and dresses that had elements of playful peek-a-boo in solid and sheer fabric placements, there was a slight veering into the world occupied by young fashion and wasn’t the best way of showcasing the designers proven talent. But the expansion of her first forays into denim and pants from her spring summer 2023 show were a hit. Confirming that the young designers who have made London their home are truly considering their brands as a business and its not only next seasons shapes they need to have a view on, but sales figures too. And with her fall collection, Dojaka is teasing out and trialling new categories for all aspects of her customers life, as not every girl can pull of a sheer bralette to the office party.

Her simple wide leg denim jeans complimented a floor length tailored coat and sheer body, but never one to rest on her laurels, what is sure to have social media darlings from the Jenner’s to the Hadid’s to the Doja Cat’s requesting the sample fresh off the runway was her patchwork version that was spliced with both lace and chiffon, demonstrating that the designer has already become accustomed to injecting her signature handwriting into the most everyday of products.

As was called out in last season’s review, Dojaka looks to have committed to exploring a range of lingerie, since it’s an area that so heavily influences her work this transition will be a natural extension for her brand. So, next Valentine’s Day expect to look to the designer for, not only her contemporary take on the party girl aesthetic, but add bras, bodysuits, and nipple-tasselled slips to your basket too.
