New Horizons for NYFW: IMG Relocates The Shows for Spring 2024

IMG Revamps New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is set for a change of scenery as IMG has decided to move the Shows from Spring Studios to a new venue in Chelsea for the upcoming Spring 2024 shows this February. While IMG has not officially confirmed the new location, there are strong indications that the Starrett-Lehigh Building will be the new central hub, offering expansive show space and impressive views of New York City.

In addition to the new show venue, IMG has confirmed that High Line Nine will serve as the official showroom space for NYFW. This location will house various initiatives, including the Black in Fashion showroom, and will introduce a consumer-focused pop-up in NoHo. This pop-up aims to engage fashion enthusiasts with exclusive designer items, events, and designer talks, alongside the Tresemmé style salon.

The relocation comes as part of IMG’s ongoing commitment to support and celebrate the American fashion industry. Despite the success of Spring Studios as the centralized hub for NYFW-related activities in recent years, designers have increasingly hosted shows across various New York City locations, from Chelsea and Tribeca to Brooklyn and the Upper East Side. This spread has often posed logistical challenges for attendees trying to navigate the back-to-back show schedules.

NYFW’s history of relocation includes notable venues like Bryant Park, Lincoln Center, Skylight at Moynihan Station, and Skylight Clarkson Square. The move to Chelsea marks another significant shift in the event’s evolution, reflecting the dynamic nature of the fashion industry.

Creative director Ethan Tobman, known for his work on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, is consulting on the evolution of NYFW, bringing a fresh perspective that bridges entertainment and fashion.

With more than $20 million in support provided to American designers since 2020, IMG continues to offer a range of support through programs like the IMG Fashion Alliance, New York Fashion Week Small Business Grant, Black In Fashion Council Discovery Showrooms, and various direct and brand partnerships. NYFW.com remains a hub for exclusive designer content, live-streamed fashion shows, and cultural programming, keeping followers connected across various social media platforms.

The shift in venue signifies a new chapter for NYFW, promising a refreshed and enhanced experience for designers, attendees, and the broader fashion community.
