The Temporary Boutique Capitalizes on the City’s Influx Around the America’s Cup Sailing Race
As the sports world shifts attention to Barcelona for the Louis Vuitton Cup leading up to the 37th America’s Cup, Prada is set to capitalize on the event’s visibility with retail activations. The house is not only hitting the Barcelona waters with the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli AC75 foiling monohull, but also opening a temporary boutique at the city’s Marina Port Vell harbor.
The 1,290-square-foot boutique features Prada’s triangle logo in light green on the outside and offers a range of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and accessories, including exclusive products like cashmere jackets, leather skirts, and sailor-themed coats and jackets.
The boutique will remain open through the end of October, coinciding with the duration of the America’s Cup.
Prada is also celebrating the sailing competition with a display at its flagship in Barcelona featuring the signature America’s Cup sneakers, honoring the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team.
The Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team has been competing in the Louis Vuitton Cup, securing the second spot in the final preliminary regatta after a high-adrenaline sailing event. Established in 1997 by Prada Group chairman Patrizio Bertelli, the Luna Rossa team has a rich history of participation in the America’s Cup, including winning the Louis Vuitton Cup in 2000.
