Prada Tropico Reimagines Window Shopping at Bergdorf Goodman
Multiple combinations of colored stripes create a hypnotic experience in Prada’s exclusive
shop windows at Bergdorf Goodman
Starting from March 3rd to March 22nd, an original landscape inspired by the colors and
atmospheres of striking distant lands expresses Prada’s key visual traits in a contemporary,
‘pop’ language. The brand’s spaces inside Bergdorf Goodman and in the department store
windows are literally defined by light, resonating with special energy. The backlit surfaces
feature a sequence of bright, alternating stripes in contrasting colors, while a neon sign
provides a fresh, interpretation of the iconic Prada triangle logo.
In the windows, intense contrasting color pairings and geometric patterns produce graphic
effects, playfully creating opposition between the interior and exterior and the cornices and
displays; as well as effects of convergence and divergence from juxtaposing vertical and
horizontal lines in green, white, black, blue, red, yellow and orange. The displays are
dominated by a neon Prada triangle.
The large, ivory-white and green striped columns of the carpet flooring characterize the Prada
spaces inside the department store.
Colored stripes are also featured in the garments from the store’s special collection, giving a
burst of energy to flowing silk blouses, mini, calf-length and full skirts, vibrant pajama
inspired looks and casual men’s shirts and shorts. The same hues are repeated in the
accessories: striped hats constructed with raffia, nylon, and cotton drill materials are
introduced across several timeless silhouettes. Leather, Saffiano, and raffia bags provide
another interpretation of the brand’s iconic triangle.
