Stella McCartney x Veuve Clicquot Celebrate Their Capsule Collection

Fashion and Champagne Collaborate on Sustainable Luxury Accessories

Renowned fashion designer Stella McCartney and esteemed champagne house Veuve Clicquot have joined forces to introduce a groundbreaking grape-based alternative to animal leather. This innovative material, crafted from the by-products of Veuve Clicquot’s harvest, has been utilized to create six luxurious accessories by Stella McCartney, debuting at the Summer 2024 runway show during Paris Fashion Week.

The highlight of this collaboration is an exclusive celebration event, set to take place on Lily of the Valley Day, May 1st, at a prestigious location in Paris. Guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the spirit of sustainability and luxury as they indulge in an afternoon of fashion, champagne, and innovation. The event will feature a showcase of the accessories, with Stella McCartney herself in attendance to discuss the inspiration behind the collection.

The collaboration between Stella McCartney and Veuve Clicquot reflects their shared commitment to sustainability, circularity, and regenerative practices. Both Maisons, founded by pioneering women, have legacies rooted in craftsmanship and innovation. Stella McCartney, a leading advocate for cruelty-free and sustainable fashion, has never used leather or fur in her designs, while Madame Clicquot revolutionized the champagne industry with her innovative techniques.

The grape-based material used in the accessories is sourced from the environmentally certified Grand Cru vineyard of Bouzy in Champagne, ensuring full traceability and sustainability. This collaboration marks a significant step towards a more responsible future, as emphasized by Jean-Marc Gallot, CEO of Veuve Clicquot, who stated, “Reinventing a new circular material reusing the resources of our vineyards grown in regenerative agriculture is one of the key projects that demonstrate our climate entrepreneurship spirit.”

The vegan accessories, including iconic Frayme bags, a bottle holder housing Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label, and Elyse sandals, will be available for pre-order soon, with delivery scheduled for March 2024. By pioneering this grape-based leather alternative, Stella McCartney and Veuve Clicquot are leading the way towards a more sustainable and scalable solution in the fashion industry.
