Once again, as July gives way to August and summer begins its slow retreat, Copenhagen Fashion Week has taken over the city. Its influence has grown considerably over the past five years, though we at The Impression have supported and covered it from the beginning. I have, by now, seen many seasons of Copenhagen street style—and its particular character remains unmistakable.
Copenhagen has always felt like fashion month’s cheerful art-school student: adventurous, a little eccentric, and animated by a genuine love of getting dressed. Bold color and daring combinations are part of the city’s well established vocabulary. This season, bikini-like tops appeared beneath blazers; unconventional accessories brought a familiar Copenhagen wit; and prints and patterns were mixed with joyful abandon. Elsewhere, long lace-trimmed slip dresses floated over wide-leg jeans, giving delicacy and denim equal space within the silhouette. Together, these gestures captured Copenhagen street style at its best: instinctive, experimental, and grounded in the pleasure of personal expression.
That pleasure found quieter expression, too. A current of minimalism moved through the streets, giving the season’s exuberance room to breathe. Chic maternity dressing emerged as another highlight, alongside occasional touches of pastoral charm. I’ll spare us all the inevitable “cottagecore” designation.
In selecting these images, I looked for that same spirit: considered looks shaped by curiosity, confidence, and an individual point of view. The edit that follows brings together the very best of Copenhagen street style this season. Enjoy.
