Tod’s Launches Marlin Collection Inspired by JFK’s Legendary Boat

The Capsule Channels Nautical Elegance And Italian Lifestyle Through Ready-To-Wear, Leather Goods, And Accessories

Tod’s is diving deeper into lifestyle storytelling with the launch of the Marlin project, a new collection inspired by the legendary boat once owned by John F. Kennedy.

The Italian luxury house describes the collection as a tribute to a slower, more understated vision of leisure — one shaped by days at sea, summer conviviality, and timeless elegance. Drawing connections between Italian coastal living and the relaxed sophistication associated with Hyannis Port and New England, the project reflects Tod’s ongoing emphasis on craftsmanship, heritage, and lifestyle-driven luxury.

The Marlin itself has also developed ties to Italy over the years, spending more than two decades sailing the waters around Capri, which has become its adopted home.

The collection includes ready-to-wear, footwear, bags, and accessories for both men and women, combining nautical references with Tod’s signature leather craftsmanship. Technical fabrics, canvas, and maritime-inspired detailing are paired with soft leather constructions to create pieces designed for both coastal and urban settings. A palette of green and cream directly references the original colors of the boat.

Among the key pieces is the new Marlin Bomber, crafted in technical cotton with nappa leather-trimmed pockets and collar detailing. Nautical references continue through sailor-knot zipper pulls that subtly reinforce the maritime inspiration behind the collection.

Tod’s has also revisited its historic Marlin loafer, updating the silhouette with more contemporary proportions while maintaining its connection to the brand’s heritage of relaxed luxury. The shoe incorporates subtle references to the Gommino loafer through detailing on the heel, linking the new design back to one of Tod’s most recognizable signatures.

Accessories include a canvas-and-leather tote designed to be customized with charms, a silk scarf featuring illustrations of the Marlin boat, and a striped green-and-white interpretation of the brand’s Greca Belt.

With the Marlin project, Tod’s continues to lean into narrative-driven collections that merge product with lifestyle identity, reinforcing its positioning around understated luxury, craftsmanship, and the enduring appeal of Mediterranean leisure culture.
