Tod’s Pays Tribute to Italian Craftsmanship With “Italian Hands” Book Launch

Tod’s debuts a new book titled Italian Hands, honoring the excellence of Italian craftsmanship

Tod’s has unveiled Italian Hands, a new book celebrating the artistry and tradition at the heart of Italian craftsmanship. Presented at the brand’s flagship boutique on Milan’s Via Montenapoleone during the city’s renowned Design Week, the project reflects Tod’s ongoing commitment to honoring the people and processes behind its legacy.

The book offers an intimate visual tribute to the artisans who shape Tod’s signature aesthetic, featuring portraits that focus on the hands that cut, stitch, mold, and construct. These close-up vignettes capture not only the technical skill but also the generational knowledge and devotion that underpin the Made in Italy ethos.

Italian Hands also includes imagery of Tod’s Gommino loafers — an emblem of the house’s enduring values — and features elegantly styled individuals who collaborate with these artisans to carry the tradition forward. The book’s narrative is anchored in a belief that true luxury lies in dedication to quality, refinement, and the human touch.

The preface, written by Academy Award-winning actress Michelle Yeoh, reflects on the emotional power of craftsmanship and the cultural significance of preserving artisanal techniques. Her perspective adds a global voice to the publication’s message: that beauty and excellence are timeless pursuits, passed down through hands that shape the future.

Italian Hands is the latest addition to a series of cultural projects from Tod’s, following previous titles such as Italian Portraits, Timeless Icons, and The Art of Craftsmanship by Tim Walker. Together, these works celebrate not only the brand’s heritage but also the enduring relevance of Italian artistry in a global fashion landscape.
