Vivienne Westwood Will Present a Bridal Collection on the Runway for the First Time in Barcelona in April
Vivienne Westwood has been announced as the guest designer brand for the upcoming Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, set to take place from April 23 to 26. Known for its punk roots and unique designs, the iconic brand, currently led by creative director Andreas Kronthaler, will showcase its 2026 bridal collection at this renowned event in Spain.
The brand first introduced its bridalwear line in 2019, building on two decades of offering bespoke bridal creations from its London boutique on Davies Street. Today, Vivienne Westwood Bridal features couture and made-to-order lines, with designs available at select flagship stores and exclusive retailers around the globe.
This upcoming Barcelona show marks the first time Vivienne Westwood will unveil its bridal collection on the catwalk. The runway event is scheduled for April 24 at the University of Barcelona’s Claustro, a historic 19th-century building, as part of the Barcelona Bridal Night gala. Approximately 30 gowns will be showcased.
“We are delighted to take part in the Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week next April, offering our first presentation of the bridal collections on a catwalk,” said Brigitte Stepputtis, design director for couture and bridal at Vivienne Westwood. “The show we will unveil in Barcelona will celebrate femininity and individuality. In Vivienne’s own words, ‘my clothes allow you to project your personality, giving you the opportunity to express yourself,’” Stepputtis added.
Following in the footsteps of past guest designers like Giambattista Valli, Elie Saab, and Viktor & Rolf, Vivienne Westwood’s appearance is highly anticipated. Trade show director Albasarí Caro expressed excitement, stating, “We couldn’t have a more representative brand than Vivienne Westwood in this 2025 edition inspired by art, creativity, and sustainability — values that we share with the iconic British house, which has been key in its ability to redefine fashion and its connection with the social and natural environment. The brand’s presence is a callout to a bold, daring bride and a true privilege for both Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week and the city.”
Vivienne Westwood’s bridal creations have also been worn by high-profile brides, including Miley Cyrus and Princess Maria Laura of Belgium. The 2025 edition of Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week will host about 30 fashion shows and is expected to attract approximately 360 exhibitors from around the world
