Zimmermann Store Scout Fall 2022

Zimmermann’s Newest Boutique in Florence

Zimmermann is continuing its European expansion with the opening of a boutique in Florence, Italy in September 2022. It will be the brand’s fifth Italian location following the opening of its Rome boutique in October 2021, Forte Dei Marmi in July 2021, Milan in 2020 and Capri in 2019.

In keeping with the brands Australian roots, the Florence boutique is designed by Studio McQualter and is approximately 160 square meters.

The boutique is set in Palazzo Piccioli, a 16 th century heritage building facing the Arno River in the heart of Florence. In respecting the classicism of the traditional Italian shopfront, detailed metalwork in bronzed brass and aged copper were used throughout the space. The furniture is a mix of original and vintage pieces including a Warren Platner lounge chair and Eero Saarinen tulip chairs from 1957. There is also a new Palladian floor, Venetian terrazzo tiles and antique French parquetry, creating an overall affect that crosses regions and periods with its eclectic mix of design inspirations.

The artwork collection featured throughout the store are by Australian based artists such as Jordy van den Nieuwendijk, Pia Murphy, Guy Warren and Nori Lindsay.

“We are thrilled to be opening our store in Florence; it’s one of my favourite cities in Italy to visit! I always get inspired by the history, art, and architecture while I am there. We’ve restored the apothecary interior of the store made in the early 1800’s in the Umbrian town of Orvieto which we’ve paired with pieces from different periods in time including some of my mid-century favourites. I will get the opportunity to visit again in October and I cannot wait.” said Creative Director & Co-Founder, Nicky Zimmermann.

The Florence boutique is located at Via de’ Tornabuoni, 1, 7R,9R and will open with the Fall 2022 Collection.
