“Etro was founded in 1968 as a textile company, which is why its connection with textiles is so deeply embedded. I visited the Maison’s archives on 6th June 2022 for the first time, a place brimming with Made in Italy-history and inspiration. There were eleven disused fabrics that captured my imagination that day, inspiring me to create a special upcycling project. And so, Love Trotter came into being, from the desire to transform and renew. This limited edition bag collection made from upcycled fabric scraps and recycled plastic is my first homage to ETRO’s history and sustainability.”
These are the words Marco De Vincenzo, Etro’s new Creative Director, uses to describe the new Love Trotter bag collection, which was unveiled during his first fashion show at the helm of the brand and launched on etro.com and in an exclusive collaboration with Mytheresa.com.
Crafted entirely by hand in Italy, the new “see now, buy now” tote bags combine premium textiles from the Etro Home Collection with colorful logoed handles in recycled plastic. The embroidered winged Pegasus adds a three-dimensional accent to styles embellished with leather details, antiqued hardware and striped jacquard linings.
The new Love Trotter bags are available in a limited edition of only 200 numbered pieces, and come in both large and small sizes. The bags are presented in a recycled paper box, personalized with a Paisley print and upcycled colorful ribbons.
